Addiction of smartphones is increasing throughout. More and more people are getting smartphones, showing that there is a significant increase in data usage (about 40 times) in last 3 years. People use the phones for everything, streaming videos, listening to music and radio, and socializing.
Data shows that more people use their smartphones than regular phones; “81% of smartphone users make calls every day compared with 53% of regular users.” People also use them to message more often, go on their social media to talk, increase of phone usage during dinner time and even the bathroom.
What it gets to me is the fact that majority of the adults prefer iPhone (32%) and majority of teenagers prefer Blackberry (37%). I thought people, especially teenagers, believed Blackberry to be corporate, less fun and for the older generation. Possible explanation for this is the BBM, but I was still taken back by this fact.
