What's on TV these days?

Due to internet, more and more people are watching television shows through websites such as Netflix and Hulu. Therefore, many television manufacturers are now producing more internet TVs. Sony has a partnership Google and created the Google TV, where people can easily search and watch their favorite shows.

Then what happened to the 3D TVs? Let me ask a question, how many people do you know who owns 3D TVs? Not a lot of people buy them. With limited viewing options and premium price, 3D TVs re not in people’s minds when they are searching for new TVs. So people are, rather than getting the 3D TVs, are buying LCD and flat-panel TVs. Not only they are buying these TVs, they are upgrading to bigger screens.

Also, according to a “Deloitte survey found that 42% of Americans surf the web while watching television, 29% talk on their phones while the TV is on and 26% of consumers are texting or sending IMs.” That means people are tweeting, and posting on facebook during their favorite shows, often quoting the catchy and hilarious lines. This makes people curious and often makes them watch the shows through, once again Netflix or Hulu.

The television industry is now changing their way of selling TVs. They are selling them through internet, they are selling it through social networking sites, and they are selling them through fathers? Fathers are known to buy more TVs due to bigger inclination of talking about tech with friends, and dads justify their buys by saying the whole family will enjoy a better TVs. But in my opinion, the dads just wants a better and bigger TVs then their neighbors.
